Lois Rocha

Obituary of Lois Miki Rocha

Lois Miki Rocha was born on August 20, 1963 on the United States Naval base in Yokosuka, Kanagawa, Japan to J.L. Graves and Setsuko Graves. Lois had two siblings; an older sister, Ada Thompson, and a younger brother, James Graves. Lois spent the last 39 years of her life married to the love of her life, Nicolas A. Rocha. Lois was the loving mother to two children, Nicolas Rocha III and Miki Rocha.

Lois grew up in Japan until her family moved to Poway, California during the early 1970s. She graduated from Mt. Carmel High School in 1981. That same year on June 7 in Oceanside, California, she met her future husband, a marine named Nicolas Rocha. Three months after meeting and dating, the pair married on September 25,1981.

Lois always dreamt of becoming a mother and having a big family. On February 20, 1983, Lois had her first child, a son who she named Nicolas. Several years later on June 24, 1991, Lois had her second child, a daughter named Miki. Lois was also a very loving aunt to all her nieces and nephews. She treated them as if they were her children as well. Lois loved being a wife and mother above all else and she would let anyone she spoke to know just how proud she was of her family.

Lois had a childlike innocence about her that was very pure and honest. She filled the hearts of those who knew her with so much joy, laughter, and lots of love. She had the biggest heart filled with so much warmth, compassion, and understanding. Lois didn’t have a bad bone in her body. She also never saw any bad in others, even if they wronged her. All she would do is pray for their happiness and that they would find peace in their life.

Lois always said that her main purpose in her life was to help bring peace, happiness, and kindness to others and help aid in bringing world peace. She always tried to set a great example as being a very compassionate person to others and tried to help anyone that she could. She was always trying to help share her Buddhist practice because she truly believed that many could benefit from it like she did.

Lois was one of the happiest and most positive people that you could have met. She tried to never let anything bring her down or her fighting spirit. Lois’s unconditional love, warmth, and positive spirit has left us with so many beautiful memories. Lois Miki Rocha will be greatly missed by her family and friends. May she rest in peace.

Lois Miki Rocha is survived by her loving husband, Nicolas Rocha, her son, Nicolas Rocha III, her daughter, Miki Rocha, her sister, Ada Thompson, her brother, James Graves, her in-laws, Patrick Thompson, Hiromi Graves, Lucy Echavarria, and her many nieces and nephews.

A message from Lois’s Husband:

My name is Nick Rocha  or Nicolas A. Rocha, born in Brownsville Texas in 1957.

I had to travel around the world and then returned to this country to find the Love of my life in Southern California in San Diego while in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Lois and I met on June 7th, 1981 and then 3 months later on September 25 1981 Lois and Nick were married in the City of Vista California.

My wife Lois Rocha gave us 2 kids 1 son Nicolas and then our Daughter Miki J. Rocha , she had a heck of a great life even though she spent 11 1/2 years doing dialysis .

Lois was a person who had so much compassion and love for humanity ,when I saw (Jerks) she would seek  prayer for them.

39 years of marriage  what a wonderful wife, lover, and friend she was for 39 years even when times got hard.

Love you honey and I'll be with one day soon.
