Obituary of Genoveva Campuzano Rodriguez

It is with humble acceptance of God's will that we announce the death of our beloved mother Genoveva "Geno" Rodríguez Campuzano who ascended to heaven on May 3, 2020.

 

She was born on January 3, 1930 in La Cienega, State of Mexico, to Telesforo Campuzano and Paula Romero Campuzano. She emigrated to the Salinas Valley in 1961 where she lived her entire life. She worked in the strawberry fields for 30 years. She was an active member of the Cristo Rey church.

 

Geno is survived by her daughters, Rocio (Diego) Rios and Xochilt (Juan) Paniagua and 6 grandchildren, Polo (Braulia) González, Jessica González, Jonathon González, Natalia Ríos, Jacqueline González and Diego Rios and 3 great-grandchildren, Hailey, Ivory and Polito . Her family members in Mexico, sisters, Juanita, Felicitas, Reyna, a brother Carmelo, numerous nephews and nieces and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 siblings (Amador Campuzano, Adrian Campuzano, and Vicente Campuzano) and her husband, Fidel (Cowboy) Rodríguez.

 

We, her family are deeply grateful to God for the privilege of having Geno as our Matriarch. Throughout her life we ​​have truly known the love of God, the hope of heaven and believing in salvation through Jesus Christ. Geno left a huge void in our hearts and we will always remember her with great love, her loving family.

 

Geno was held at her home on Thursday, May 7 and her Mass was on Friday, May 8 in Cristo Rey. She was buried in the Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Due to the circumstance, the services were private.
