Obituary of Jannon Lynn Quintero

Jannon Lynn Quintero, 72, passed away on January 19th at SVMH.  Jannon was born in Salinas, Ca. on November 8th, 1948 to parents Al and Betty Quintero.  She attended schools in Salinas and in Yuma, Az, and graduated from Yuma High School.  She graduated from the University of Santa Barbara, where she earned her teaching credential.  
She taught in the Alisal Union School District for over 30 years.  During her career, she was an active union member and served a term as Alisal Teachers Association President .  She was a Mentor teacher.  Jannon was a proud recipient of the local council of CTA WHO award and Harden Teaching Excellence Award. 
After her retirement, Jannon volunteered at SVMH.   As a Service League member, she continued her interest in education by serving as a docent and eventually becoming the coordinator for the Museum of Medical History student tours.   She served on the Service League Board as Secretary several terms.  
Jannon is survived by her mother Betty Testa, her sister Muriel Emery(Ron), her brother Mitchell(Opal), aunts Linda Podeszwa and Toni Fox and Maria Quintero and Uncle Jaime Quintero. Josephine(Adam) and Kaelen(Griffey) Kent Emery and Jeffrey(Brandie) and great nieces and nephews.  She will be missed by many special friends especially by Diane Downey, Stephanie Coffin and Valerie Contreras and Liliane Thompson.
No services will be held at this time. The family requests charitable contributions be sent to the Salinas Valley Memorial Foundation: Children’s Miracle Network or charity of choice.
