Obituary of Guadalupe Martinez

Guadalupe (Lupe) Martinez passed into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, December 24^th. She was 73.

 

Lupe was born to Eduardo Alvarez and Luz Rios Santos in Juarez, Mexico on November 19^th, 1948. Lupe was the 5^th of 15 children. She overcame Polio as a young child. She lived most of her life in the Salinas Valley, graduating from Gonzales High School in 1965. In her adult life, Lupe battled Huntington’s Disease.

 

Lupe worked as a telemarketer for the Salinas Californian, Salvation Army, and Grant a Wish Foundation.

 

Lupe had a warm and infectious smile. She loved to laugh. She enjoyed listening to oldies and dancing. She loved her family and many friends.

 

Lupe is survived by her doting husband Mike, her daughter Maxine Siruta, son Carlos Borbon, son Daniel Fiore, daughter Sabrina Martinez, three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

 

Visitation will be at Healey Mortuary Chapel, Monday, January 17^th from 9:00am-1:00pm. Funeral will be Monday, January 17^th at 2:00pm at New Life Church of the Nazarene, 800 North Main Street, Salinas.
