Obituary of Maria Enriqueta Galaviz Perez

Maria Enriqueta Galaviz Perez, born May 11th, 1945 in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico, passed away peacefully January 7th, 2022. Wife to Pedro Perez Rodriguez since December 24th, 1968, she made her home in Gonzales, California.

Enriqueta was a proud great grandmother, grandmother, mother, wife, and homemaker, but also spent her life contributing to her Coahuilense community through the redistribution of gently used clothing to families in need. Making affordable clothing accessible to struggling families was a staple of Queta’s life with aspirations of opening up a secondhand store in the near future.

Hermana Queta was a faithful steward of the Apostolic Faith in Christ church in Gonzales, Ca for over 30 years.

Mrs. Perez is predeceased by her mother, Petra Galaviz Zamora, her father, Julio Galaviz Melendez, sisters, Maria Esperanza Sanchez Galaviz and Rosa Elia Vasquez Galaviz, her brothers, Julio Galaviz Zamora and Alexander Galaviz Zamora, and son Julio Cesar Perez. She is survived by her husband, Pedro Perez Rodriguez, her sisters Dora Alicia Camacho Galaviz, Maria Estella Dorantes Galaviz, Gloria Azucena Melgoza Galaviz, Consuelo Perales Galaviz four children, Pedro Perez Jr., Rafael Perez, Migdalia Perez, her tesorito, Jesse Perez, her 24 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am at Healey Mortuary, located at 405 N Sanborn Rd., Salinas, Ca 93905, followed by burial at Gonzales Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be 1-5pm on Friday, January 14th, 202
