Obituary of Romeo Arenas Cacatian

Romeo Cacatian, Age 78, of San Jose, passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 23rd, 2023 at Regional Medical Center in the morning. He was surrounded by family shortly after his passing.

Romeo Arenas Cacatian was born in Narvacan Ilocos Sur, Philippines. He is the oldest child of 8. He was the son of the Late Mariano Cacatian and Petra Arenas Cacatian. 

At the age of 23, he left his hometown of Narvacan to move to California with his brother Rodolfo. Shortly after his brother moved away to another state, Romeo started working in the field. He would go from town to town during harvest season.

After several years of working in the field, he met Adreane Damaco at the Salinas Rodeo. After a year of dating, Romeo and Adreane got engaged and married on January 29th, 1972 in Salinas. They lived in Salinas for more than 20 years.

After working in the field for almost 20 years, an injury had him stop working in agriculture and shifted to work as a janitor for the next 26 years. He finally stopped working as a janitor in 2015 and enjoyed retired life until his passing. He enjoyed gardening, spending time with his family, and cooking after retirement.

Mr. Cacatian was preceded in death by his wife Adreane, mother Petra; father Mariano, and his younger brother Leonard.

He is survived by his 4 children and 4 grandchildren. One child currently lives out of California while the rest of the family currently lives in the state of California.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 31st, 2023 from 1pm to 5pm at Healey Mortuary 405 N Sanborn Rd Salinas, CA 93905

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday June 1st, 2023 at the Healey Mortuary.

Burial will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, 850 Abbott Street Salinas, CA 93901
