Obituary of Eleanor Y. Scudder

Eleanor Yvonne Emigh Scudder passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 20th at the age of 94 ,with family members by her side. “Ellie” was born on March 18th,1929 in Oakland, California, and lived in Walnut Creek, California in the Rossmoor area.

She is survived by her four loving children, a daughter, Laurie Mee from Nashville, Tennessee, and three sons from California: Steve Scudder from Rio Vista, Ron Scudder from Petaluma and Peter Scudder from Salinas. She was the proud grandmother to 13 grandchildren and 23 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Lolita and Weldon Emigh of Pebble Beach / Rossmoor, California, her sister Barbara Krueger of Reno, Nevada as well as her husband of 20 years, Charles Scudder, also from Rossmoor.

Ellie attended Piedmont High School and Mills College in Oakland. In 1959 she was a volunteer founder of the John Muir Hospital Women’s Auxiliary of Walnut Creek where she later served as a nursing assistant.

A private celebration of her life is planned for family and friends.
