Obituary of Joel Montes

Joel Montes 46 of Salinas passed away on June 22, 2023. He was born to parents José Manuel Montes Duran and Sara García De Montes on August 23, 1976. Joel was raised in Gonzales and resided in Salinas.  Joel met his wife Diana on October 1996 and it was love at first sight. He proceeded to share the next 27 years with her being married 25 of them.

Joel was a certified electrician for 25 years and was a proud member of the Local IBEW 234 Union.

Joel loved hanging out with his In laws José Luis and Irma Gonzalez going on trips. He was blessed to have many loving people in his life among them his brother in law José Luis Gonzalez(Erica Gonzalez) who became like another brother to him. He also had a special aunt whom he said was his best friend Deyara. Joel loved hanging out with a family and making everyone laugh with his stories. Joel loved going out on drives to explore, he loved to barbecue and everyone loved his barbecue ribs.

Joel is survived by his wife Diana R. Montes. Mother Sara Garcia De Montes. Siblings, Victor Manuel Montes,  Adrian Montes, Francisco Javier Montes, David Montes ,Sarita Montes.  Nephews, Luis Daniel Gonzalez, Elijah Alexander Gonzalez, Isaiah Montes, Mía Montes, and numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  

His services will be on Thursday, July 6th from 2-5pm with a Rosary prayer at 3pm at Healey Mortuary. Burial will be on Friday, July 7th at 9:00 a.m. at Queens of Heaven Cemetery in Prunedale.
