Obituary of Billy Dale Coffey Sr.

Billy D. Coffey, Sr., 84, of Salinas, CA passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. He was born on February 2, 1939, in Salinas, CA. Billy was a 1956 graduate of Salinas High School and immediately joined the U.S. Navy.

After returning home, his profession was a painter and drywall finisher, working many years for Eckelman's Painting & Drywall. In the early 70's, he opened his own Drywall business “Pro-Craft Drywall” and worked until he retired. He married his wife Carolyn (Payne) Coffey in November of 1971.

He was preceded in death by his parents Marvin T. and Ethel M. (Miller) Coffey of Salinas, CA.; six siblings - Wilda Buell of Riverside, CA, Thomas Coffey of Placerville, CA, Richard Coffey of Prunedale, CA, Marvin Coffey, Jr. of Salinas, CA, Vern Coffey of Salinas, CA, and Darlene Zimmerman of Salinas, CA.

Bill is survived by his wife Carolyn (Payne) Coffey; one sister, Marva Jean Miller of Chiloquin, OR; four sons, Billy Coffey Jr. (his wife Valarie) of Prunedale, CA, Bill Feaster (his wife Ann) of Granite Falls, WA, Brian Coffey (his wife Lori) of Marysville, WA, and Steven Coffey of Salinas, CA; one daughter, Kimberly (Coffey) Tabacchi of Salinas, CA; Thirteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life Service will be held on July 21, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Echoes from Calvary Church, 1025 Post Drive, Salinas, California.
