Obituary of Beatrice Lopez

Beatrice Lopez, 79 passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 26, 2023, in Madera, CA. Beatrice was born in Marfa, TX to Refugio and Magdalena Alvarez on December 31, 1943. “Bea” as everyone called her, was the second eldest of 8 siblings.

She worked in the accounting industry for over 30 years. She resided in Monterey County until the passing of her husband James Rede Lopez in 2002.

Beatrice is preceded in death by her mother Magdalena Alvarez, her father Refugio Alvarez and her husband James (Jim) Rede Lopez). She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Robert, and Ruben Alvarez, and her nephews Zach Alvarez and Art Garcia.

Beatrice is survived by her 3 children, Carolyn Marie Perez (Eddie), James Matthew Lopez (Patty), and Robbie Ann Aledo (David). She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Christopher Barrera, James Barrera, Nakoa James Aledo and Makai James Aledo, a great granddaughter, Miranda Barrera and great grandson, Jameson Barrera. She is also survived by 4 sisters Eva, Amy, Josie and Irma and her baby brother Ricky as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Beatrice loved cooking and cleaning, gardening, and dancing. Most of all she loved attending church and the senior center in Madera. She will be remembered for her diligent work ethic and unwavering love for her family. She was a great mother, sister, friend and wife and we were blessed to call her mom. The family would like to thank all of the amazing staff at Madera Rehabilitation Center for their patience, love and dedication in taking care of our mom over the last three years.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 3, 2023 begining at 9:00 AM at the Healey Mortuary, 405 N. Sanborn Rd., Salinas.

Funeral Services will begin at the Mortuary Chapel, Thursday at 10:00 AM, followed be the burial at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Salinas.
