Obituary of Berniece Daley

Priscilla Berniece Daley, passed away peacefully with family by her side, on September 16, 2023, in Salinas, CA at the age of 88. She was born December 7, 1934, in San Jose, CA., the youngest child of Leo and Annie Peters.

Berniece was such a sweet, selfless, loving wife, mother and grandmother. Family meant everything to her. She married the love of her life, Lawrence Daley raising five children together 55 years before his passing. She loved going to the beach, stopping to pick up deep-fried artichokes on the way, planting/tending her garden, loved to go shopping and most of all having family come home for a visit. Mom was an avid SF Giants fan as well as a big Wheel of Fortune fan! She was usually the first to guess the puzzles! She was a great cook, always baking or cooking one of our family’s many favorite recipes.

She was survived by her daughters, Donna Gularte of Salinas, Kathleen Baseline of Lewiston, ID, and son Michael (Danelle) Daley of Salmon, ID, and numerous nieces and nephews. Berniece was also blessed with 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence, sons Clifford and Daniel, and siblings, brother, Allan Peters and sister, Barbara Van Wormer.

Berniece was a 1951 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School, San Jose, CA.

Friends and family are invited to attend the visitation/viewing at Healey Mortuary in Salinas, CA on Friday, September 29, 2023 from 10am to 2pm, followed by graveside services at 2:45pm at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Salinas, CA.
