Obituary of Vera Aline Agee

A radiant star now graces the heavens as Vera Aline Agee peacefully departed this world on December 23, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her children. God has reunited her with her husband Frank, parents, and siblings.

Born on July 3, 1925, in Quenemo, Kansas, to Roy and Myra, the third of seven children. Vera grew up on a farm in Eads, Colorado. She navigated through the challenges of the Great Depression, Dust Bowl, World War II, a global pandemic, and the task of raising seven children. These experiences deeply influenced her values and resilience. Vera exemplified diligence and joy, instilling in her children the virtues of dedication, courtesy, respect, and genuine family values. Her commitment to work shone brightly until her retirement from Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital at the age of 72. She also worked as a waitress and 17 years in the children department at JC Penney. She served as the PTA President, Girl Scout leader of Troop 3019 alongside Mrs. Joyce Healey, and supporting the YMCA swim team.

Vera had a passion for cooking, literature, nature, and above all, hosting gatherings for family and friends during holidays and birthdays. These events were filled with joy and games, with Yahtzee being a particular favorite. Throughout her life, Vera's infectious smile and laughter remained a constant.

Frank and Vera’s union lasted 35 years until Frank's passing in 1991. Vera leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication, survived by her seven children: Lora Miller, Connie Tatton, Allen Collier, Eileen Pearcy, Kathy Wilson, Patty Agee, and Peggy Agee; as well as 7 grandchildren, 11 greatgrandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild. Details for a celebration of her remarkable life will be announced later. Heartfelt gratitude is extended to daughters Peggy, Eileen, and Patty for their devoted care and affection.
