Javier Jimenez

Obituary of Javier "Ernie" Jimenez

Javier Ernesto Jimenez (Ernie) was born on October 25, 1960 in Salinas, CA to Rita Nunez Jimenez and Jose Jimenez. He spent his childhood and early years in Salinas, until 1981, when he moved to Porterville, CA. After some time, Ernie settled down in Lindsay where he spent the last 20+ years of his life with his partner, Magdalena Baeza.
He loved sports and watched them every chance he got from his Man Cave, filled with sports memorabilia, and cherished memories. He was a super Forty Niner, SF Giants, and Golden State Warriors fan, and cheered on his Bay Area teams with much enthusiasm. He worked hard in many areas throughout his life, but his passion was always cooking and BBQing and he was an amazing cook. His children and siblings even followed in his cooking footsteps. Ernie was the life of the party and was loved by every person he came in contact with. Ernie loved music and could always be found singing with his beautiful voice. He appreciated a good family gathering, with great music, delicious food, and an opportunity to dance.
He is survived by his children; Elena Jimenez, Javier Jimenez, Sara Torres, his four beloved grandchildren, and six siblings; Rita Lopez (Salvador), Esther Rubio (Carlos), Tracy Tanawan, Libby Martinez (Jimmy), Abby Tanawan, Frances Nolder (Andy) and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother and father.
A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, 1/19/2024 at Madonna Del Sasso Church, 320 E. Laurel Dr. Salinas, beginning at 1:00 PM.
Inurnment will follow at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 18200 Damian Way, Salinas.
