Obituary of Virginia Ann Sahagun
Sunday, January 14th, 2024 our beloved Virginia Ann Sahagun was called to heaven; where she was greeted with open arms by her daughter Melissa “Mo” Castillo and mother Rachel Ortiz. She was born in Sacramento, CA but grew up in Monterey County where she raised her 4 children. She was a long time volunteer for Relay for Life and her passion as a nurse in the medical field led her to be well-loved by many in her community.
She found joy in many things from being outdoors, family outings/vacations, practicing her faith, and was always the first to offer help to those who needed it.
Virginia held many titles from: Mom, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, Nina, but the one she held highest was being called Ma/grandma. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for her grandkids. Her warm nature, big heart, and open arms made her a second mother to many.
She leaves behind a legacy. She has taught many of us how to love, forgive, and fight. She was always there to remind us of our own strengths, when we lost sight for a moment or just needed an ear, Virginia was there. She never sugar coated anything and always called things as they were. She created a foundation for many of us that will be passed down through generations. She was resilient and always persevered through any obstacle that was thrown her way. Virginia was a role model for a lot of us. She was a woman of grace and dignity. No one has spread more love in one lifetime than Virgina has. You have left your mark on so many and your memory will carry on through lifetimes.
Virginia you were the true definition of home.
She is survived by her siblings: Dolores(John), Cynthia, Alicia, Jacquie, Lori, Eric, and Richard; her children: Andres, Esteban, and Ricardo; her 9 grandchildren: Alyssa, Nevaeh, Tristan, Esteban Jr., Carina, Espi, Mason, Kaliyah, Kalani; and many nieces/nephews and Godchildren.
