Obituary of Ricardo Calvillo Lopez

Ricardo Calvillo Lopez passed away on February 10, 2024, at 71. He was born on October 20, 1952, in Mexico City, Mexico, and has lived in Salinas for 52 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bartolomé and Assuncion Cavillo, and his siblings, Ruben, Gina, Raul, and Gudelia Calvillo.

Ricardo is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ricarda “Fela” Calvillo, and their sons—Ivan Ricardo Calvillo and his spouse Lorena; Sergio Reyes Calvillo and his spouse Ruby. His grandsons Ivan Ricardo Jr, Andres Lazaro, Sergio Bartolo, Ozwaldo Espino, and Ricardo “Ricky” Calvillo.

He worked at Arrow Lettuce/Carmel Valley Packing for over 30 years and at Tanimura & Antle for 16 years, waking at the break of dawn and coming home late at night. Ricardo worked hard and did his best. He was a devoted parishioner of Christ the King Church, and every Sunday after Mass, we would go out to eat, which had become a beloved family tradition.

He was a lifelong soccer fan of Las Chivas de Guadalajara and his favorite football team, the San Francisco 49ers. He enjoyed barbecuing and could be found laughing at many of our family gatherings. To those who knew him, he was a great father and friend. Ricardo will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family.
