Obituary of Nilda S. Garcia

Nilda S. Garcia, 78, passed away in peace with family by her side on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, in Salinas, CA

Nilda was born on December 12,1945, in Santa Maria, TX, to Salome and Rosa Sandoval.

She is survived by daughters Lorraine and William Raasch, Sandra Garcia and Jason Morris, Lupita Garcia, her son Julian Garcia, and her 8 grandchildren: Andrew, Athena, Isaiah, Michael, Otto, Aryanna, Diego, and Aiden.

She is also survived by her brother Baldemar Sandoval and sister Noemi Lugo and several nieces & nephews.

Nilda is preceded in death by her son Michael Angel Garcia, her parents Salome and Rosa Sandoval, brothers: Gilberto, Antonio, Alberto Sandoval, and sister Aurelia S. De Luna.

Nilda and her family began a life in the Salinas Valley in 1958. She and her family worked as migrant workers in the produce industry. After retirement she devoted her time to care for her children and grandchildren.

She enjoyed watching movies, spending time in the sun, staying in communication with family in and out of state, and spoiling her grandkids. She will always be remembered as a hard worker, a loving Nana and a Best Friend.

Nilda will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Healey Mortuary, Friday, March 29, 2024 from 12 noon - 5:00 PM

A Rosary will be said at 3:00 PM at the Mortuary Chapel and a Chapel Blessing Service will begin at 3:30 PM.
