Obituary of Steve John Lopuch III

Steve John Lopuch III passed away unexpectedly on Jan 19, 2019 at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital in Salinas, CA. He leaves behind his wife of 35 years, Donna Lopuch and children Brianna Garcia, Catherine Lopuch, and Steven Lopuch, as well as his mother Jettie Lopuch, father Steve Lopuch Jr., brother Michael Lopuch, nieces Angel Rangel, Tiffany Lopuch, and CaMicha Alexander, nephews Jafar Alexander and Kerel Alexander, and grandchildren Elizabeth Gann and Ezekiel Gann.

Steve was born April 13, 1965 in Mountain View, CA. He grew up in Santa Clara, CA and joined the US Marines when he was 18. He spent time at Camp LeJune, North Carolina and then did a tour of duty in Okinawa Japan where he also served in the Philippines and visited Korea. Once out of the corps, he returned to CA where he began his career servicing commercial roll up doors for city and private contractors.

Over the years Steve spent his down time collecting music, bowling, attending 49er games, collecting Majic cards, and racing R.C. cars.

Steve was a dependable, kind hearted man - the ultimate “gentle giant.” He was known for his generosity, making people laugh and his big bear hugs. He will be missed by all who knew him.

On Wed, January 30, Steve will be laid to rest at a private gathering at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Salinas.

Memorial Services with Military Honors to celebrate his life will be held on Wed. Feb. 6, 2019 at 3pm at the Salinas Valley Community Church. 368 San Juan Grade Rd Salinas, CA .
